Give your AI a vocabulary memory

MindDory is a language-learning MCP server. Connect Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client.

What is a language-learning MCP?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants connect to outside tools and data. Connecting MindDory gives the assistant a vocabulary memory: the words you know, the words you are learning, and what you keep getting wrong.

Which tools can the assistant read?

get_system_instructions
Loads your tutor profile (level, languages, due cards, weak words) at the start of a chat.
get_user_profile
Snapshot of your CEFR level, languages, due-card count, weak words, and recent lookups.
get_queue
Cards due now and within the next 24 hours.
get_known_words
Words you have verified as known through flashcard practice.
get_card
Single card detail by word: translation, mastery, and recent history.
get_recent_activity
A slice of your event log, with optional surface filter.
get_active_vocab
Your most actively encountered words, ranked by frequency - your learning frontier.
check_words
Checks a batch of words against your deck at once, so the assistant explains what is new to you and skips what you already know.

Which tools can the assistant write with?

capture_word
Silently saves a new target-language word you met or used in chat as a flashcard.
capture_grammar_mistake
Logs a grammar mistake you just made so it can resurface later.
log_interaction
Records lookups, AI discussions, and reading-in-context signals.
mark_demonstrated
Boosts a word in your spaced-repetition queue when you used it correctly. (Premium)
mark_struggled
Degrades a word you got wrong so it comes back sooner. (Premium)

Frequently asked questions

What is a language learning MCP?

A language learning MCP is a Model Context Protocol server that gives an AI assistant a persistent memory of your vocabulary. MindDory is such a server: once connected, Claude, Cursor, or any MCP-compatible client can read the words you are learning, capture new vocabulary you meet in a conversation, and feed those words into your spaced-repetition review schedule.

Which AI clients work with MindDory over MCP?

Claude (web and Desktop), Cursor, Continue, Zed, Cline, and any other MCP-compatible client. ChatGPT and Gemini do not speak MCP natively yet; support for them is on the roadmap via OpenAPI / Custom GPT actions.

How do I connect MindDory to my AI?

You add MindDory as an MCP connector in your AI client and sign in with a magic link, which links the assistant to your MindDory account. From then on your assistant can read and update your vocabulary brain. See the Connect page for how it works.

Is the language learning MCP free?

Yes. Every MCP tool is free with a MindDory account, reading and writing alike, including the ones that capture a word and move it through the spaced-repetition schedule. There is no MCP plan and no card to enter. MindDory Premium buys the in-app AI features, not the connection. The vocabulary brain syncs across web, iOS, and Android.

What can the AI actually do with my vocabulary?

It reads your CEFR level, target and source languages, due cards, known words, and weak words, so it can teach at the right level. It silently captures new target-language words and grammar mistakes from your chats and turns them into flashcards, and it can boost or degrade a word in your spaced-repetition queue based on whether you used it correctly.
