What is MindDory?

MindDory is built for someone who already reads, watches, or works in a language and keeps hitting words they do not know. Capture is the entry point; the spaced reviews are what the product is actually for.

It is written for three situations in particular: someone whose partner speaks another language and who gets by at home but not at the family table, someone who moved to a new country and needs the vocabulary of forms, landlords, doctors and school, and someone reading a book in a language they are still learning.

A word can enter three ways: scanned from a printed page or PDF, typed or pasted for translation, or handed over by an AI assistant connected through MCP. Each becomes a card with a memory cue, a vivid sound-alike association that makes the word stick, and then returns on a schedule.

What is MindDory not?

Not a general-purpose flashcard app. It is built around words in a foreign language. For medical terminology, law, or exam decks outside languages, it is the wrong tool.
Not a course. There are no grammar lessons, no structured beginner curriculum, and no speaking or pronunciation practice with feedback.
Not for absolute beginners. It assumes you are already reading, watching, or working in the language and running into words you do not know. Starting from zero, a course app is a better first step.
Not customisable the way Anki is. No custom note types, no add-ons, no plugins, no user-tunable scheduling, and no shared community decks.
Not a conversation tutor. It does not chat with you to practise the language.
