Save the words you meet while you read, without leaving the page

The MindDory extension for Chrome shows the translation of any word you select on a web page and saves it as a flashcard with one click, together with the sentence it came from. Select a sentence you wrote yourself and it checks the grammar. The cards land in the same MindDory account as your phone, ready to review.

How does saving a word work?

Select a word you do not know on any page. The translation appears right next to it. One click saves it as a card in the folder you choose, and you stay where you were reading.

The card keeps the sentence the word was in. When a word has several meanings, you pick the one that is actually there, so the card teaches the meaning you met and not the first line of a dictionary entry.

Can it check what I write?

Yes. Select a sentence you wrote, in a comment, an email or a message, and click Check. It shows what is wrong and how someone who speaks the language would say it, and one click puts the new sentence back into the field.

It uses the same checker as the MindDory keyboard on your phone, and the same allowance: a monthly allowance on the free plan, and up to 200 checks a day with Premium.

Where do the words go?

Into your MindDory account. Open the app on your phone or app.minddory.com and they are there, in the folder you picked, waiting for their first review. A hard word comes back in three days, an easy one in a week.

What the extension is not

• Not a page translator. It translates the word or sentence you select, not the whole site.
• Not something that reads everything you type. It never reads password, one-time code or payment fields, and you can switch it off for any site.
• Not for every browser yet. It is built for Chrome.
