About DALF C2

DALF C2 is the highest diploma in the series and certifies command comparable to an educated native speaker: nuance, irony, literary register and the rare tenses. There is nothing above it in the framework, and like every DELF and DALF it does not expire.

Who this list is for

DALF C2 is pursued for mastery, for teaching credentials, or for the most demanding academic settings. Very little requires it, so candidates usually want the certificate for its own sake. It suits people who read French literature fluently and can move from a children's book to a legal text without effort.

How to study

At C2 the task is maintenance rather than acquisition. Read across genres you normally avoid and keep rare idioms and literary vocabulary in spaced repetition, since these are exactly what an advanced user lets lapse. Have your writing critiqued for register and connotation rather than for correctness; what remains at this level is taste, and taste is invisible from the inside.

Where do the words after this list come from?

A list has an end. The words you keep for good usually turn up somewhere else — in a page you read, a show you watched, or a conversation you had — one at a time, and rarely at the level you planned for.

MindDory connects to Claude, Cursor, and other assistants that speak the Model Context Protocol, so a word you meet while you are chatting is saved to your deck as a flashcard without you leaving the conversation. There is no copy and paste, no CSV export, and no browser extension.
